“CIRCLES”

Circles are the fundamental elements of the paintings (oil on canvas) by Birgit Antoni.

The artist from Cologne made a name for herself in the 1980s with her animation films. Her paintings remain true to these origins. In rhythmic overlapping Anton‘s paintings depict different phases of a metamorphosing composition.

Birgit Antoni, born in Cologne in 1956, studied from 1977 – 1984 at the Academy of Art in Düsseldorf. In 1990, she was awarded the prize from the “Bundesverband Deutscher Industrie” (German Industry Group). Her films have been shown at international festivals as well as in cultural programmes in numerous television channels.
