Erich Reusch, born 1925
in wittenberg, ranks as one of the leading German sculptors
of this century. Having been at first an architect himself,
he soon devoted himself completely to fine art.
In 1998, the Kunstmuseum (Museum of Art) in Bonn
displayed a large lay-out retrospective, accompanied
by a catalogue with texts written by Volker Adolphs,
Manfred Schneckenburger and Christoph Schreier.
He also has a large number of works on public
display and in public collections. Works worth particular
mention are the sculpture at the grounds of the
Bundeswehr administration centre in Munich and the
water relief in front of the Department of the Interior
for the Land Nordrhein-Westfalen in D üsseldorf.
From 1973, Reusch taught at the State Academy
of Art in Düsseldorf where he held the chair
for “Integration, fine art and architecture ” until
1990.
