“LUCID MOMENTS” – this was the
title of the exhibition at the GALERiE FRIEBE.
On display were works by Elisa Sighicelli, a young
Italian photographic artist who lives and works in
London. Following successful exhibitions in England
and Italy, this was her first presentation in a German
gallery.
The particular strength of Elisa Sighicelli's works
is that they impart the observer with an abundance
of associations. One feels reminded of situations
that one has experienced oneself, but also of paintings
and images from certain films.
With Elisa Sighicelli, the Galerie Friebe presented another
exciting stance on the theme of photography and light. Following
encounters with Kazuo Katase and Elger Esser and after the
group exhibition “Mehr Licht” (More Light), this
was yet again an opportunity to have a critical look at the
ever more important use of these media in contemporary art.
